Jessica Millsaps Poems

When the desperation hit
When the people cried in the streets
When everything felt at loss
Hope stayed, even though fleaing would be easier
...

Every night
The horizon lights up
Swirls of pink and orange
Fading to blue and purple
...

September is like no other
It's days change color and weather
No other month can say quite the same
For every day, I can feel the change
...

4.

I am what I want
I am who I choose
I am that of little matter
I am the most important thing
...

Shimmering showering
Droplets like jewels
Fountain of sky
Awake and Renew
...

Dream big for what is to come
Hope big for those who need it most
Love big for just your self and one more
As all in this world do every day
...

In the summer,
When the air is hot and tight
When the hot suns light is burning my eyes
I go to the golden beaches.
...

As in the desert,
A sand blows,
It's eastward wings carrying it's wonderous jewels
A lady, dancing no less, her face that of a thousand queens,
...

As the full moon rises
To it's nocturnal throne....

The children of the night
...

Each star is different
But I still dance on them all
Each graceful movement,
Each wonderful step
...

With this apology I now end
The pain I sadly caused my friend
Sparkling hope, cleanse my soul
With forgiveness make me whole
...

Listen close to the whispers
On the Autumn winds...
For they tell of the secret passage,
The passage to the magical realm
...

When the sun finally sets,
When the stars come out to play
And the wind blows ever so softly
Bringing you back to today
...

Beautiful she is, without a fear
The midnight moon rises high,
Now it is full and clear
Her silver eyes flash about, dark hair flaring out
...

15.

Silently, the movements are made
The wind could blow, and the rain could fall
The earth could shake, and fire could erupt
But the dance so entrancing, none would notice
...

Look with the open mind of a child...
Let imagination be your guide

A new world will unfold
...

Don't forget the rain
When you could run in it

Don't forget the wind
...

With this hope,
I sound a chime
And bring friendship to this place in time
...

There's magic in the air
Love is everywhere
All our friends gathered round
To celebrate the fair
...

20.

In this world, the nature is dying
The way we once were is leaving us.
Replaced by machines and war
Save for one tiny little corner of the globe.

Jessica Millsaps Biography

Jessica was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She always had a way with being different. When younger, her classmates would hate to write, anything, she loved it. Constantly writing stories, poems, songs, without needing to. Just simply wanting to. Now she writes a lot more and hopes that maybe one day one of her poems will be published.)

Hope Is Not Lost

When the desperation hit
When the people cried in the streets
When everything felt at loss
Hope stayed, even though fleaing would be easier

When the eyes were full of tears.
When kids and families were torn apart
By that last desperate grasp
Hope tried

When all else gave up
When all else backed off
When people lost all they had
Hope flew

When they cried
When the world was shocked with desperation and dispair
When nothing seemed good
Hope worked

When those four planes crashed
When the buildings fell
When the lives were lost
Hope was there

Hope was only a tiny glimmer
Hope was still there
She ran to those who needed her
She worked to help

When all else failed
Hope didn't
She flew through us all
Letting us know, we still had her
We just needed to look hard enough

Hope was there
Hope remembers

Jessica: I am SO impressed with your talent! I also write free-form poetry and really love this format. Peaches really touched my heart. I am a dog lover - an animal lover really, and I love the visual portrait you painted for us in this piece. Avalon. Beautiful! I am going to go back and browse some more. Thanks for sharing! I might post some things on this site too! Hugs, Tif
