Questions? Poem by B. V. Dahlen

Questions?

Do I love you because you care,
or rub my back on stressful days?
Or is it for that devilish wit
that never ceases to amaze?

Does love consist of wants and needs,
or all the many things you do
to make my life run smoother still
when troubles mount and joys are few?

Is it because that as a dad,
you try much more than I could ask?
No matter what your family needs,
you’re always equal to the task.

So who needs reasons, who asks why
this partnership of ours endures?
I’m only happy that you’re mine,
and thrilled that you still call me yours.
