Questions And Answers Poem by Bruce Melhorn

Questions And Answers

In the darkest place I've ever been in
Can't stop, Just keep on sinnin
What? You take me out that book I thought I been in
Just aint right bein saved with the life im livin'
I think I'm done, matter fact I know I'm finished
Isn't that I don't believe, I just think that all I need is me
All I ever see you do is watch
Now, you can watch me leave, How selfish can you be
Create me just to see me bleed
Your books a wasted read
I'm fightin' flesh and blood not principalities
How can I rely on something that I never seen
Let me go
Better yet, Leave me be

THE PRAYER

LORD!

Yesterday my spirit tried to leave me
Said that I'm a liar and a cheat and it don‘t need me
I want you back, please forgive me
What I said I didn't mean it
I am why my soul keeps bleedin'
Devils' stronger cause I feed um'
Problems larger cause I breed um'
Keep movin' farther and farther from god I need him
Here I am, on my knees, Bible open psalm twenty three
Devils' focus keeps me hopeless
Only with your help can I revoke this
My greed is killin' me
Devil says he wants my life or my loyalty
Jesus Where you at?
Are you avoidin' me,
Dear lord please don't toy with me

THE ANSWER

Son I'm here I never left,
What you feed your soul is what you get
Jesus came defeated Satan
Now you gotta put your faith in me and have some patients
You breath air with every breath
can't be seen but it's there none the less
Just because I blessed you
doesn't mean that I won't test you
I use Satan like a virtue
How can you be saved if I don't let him hurt you
By the way, my books my word
it lives and breaths just like this verse
I lift the curse and your forgiven
Now go ahead and stop the sinnin'
Live every day as if I'm in it
don't worry bout your spirit I'm within' it

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is the story of the progression of my faith. Although many times through life we feel alone or not worth the dust we are made of. Yet there is something greater meant for us the question is are we strong enough to get there and realize it.
