Quietness Pervaded The Air Poem by Deanna Samuels

Quietness Pervaded The Air

Quietness pervaded the air
Fresh snow overnight
Blanketed the ground
The new flakes sparkled
Whole and undisturbed
Not a footprint
Not a pawmark
Not a brush of a wing
Of any living creature
Marred the unblemished coverlet
As though for a fleeting moment
The whole earth was at peace
At peace under a clear blue sky
