Quirk Poem by Laurence Overmire

Quirk

The man is who he is
No doubt about that
When sad impressions bleed
From the rocky crags of
The wind-swept mountains of
Personhood

You may not like him
You certainly don't understand him
Every choice he makes
Enough to set your perfectly-coiffed hair
On edge
Still

There is no denying that that
Which makes him what he is
Is as mystifyingly beautiful and
Essential
To this quantum mosaic of life
As is

The star that finds itself
Uncomfortably
Invisible
In the pantheon of majesty that
Crowns
The midnight sky.
