" Reflections Of A Forsaken Dream" Poem by ms. fidelity

" Reflections Of A Forsaken Dream"

I once did deem that love a thing of waste,
Yet fear did stay my heart from trusting true.
Not ready was I for fate's cruel haste,
I thought such wonders would ne'er come to view.

Thou art for me, and we were meant to be;
Thou hast awakened faith in love's embrace.
A sacred bond I could not yet foresee,
Till thou didst show me love's most tender grace.

I blink, as though this vision be a dream,
For I am frighted to love once more.
To cast this memory, so sweet, it seems,
While thou dost guide me, my heart doth implore.

I thought thou wert my own, in truth, forever,
Yet now thou art away—dost this love cease?
Is this the end, a fleeting bond to sever?
Or may love rise anew from sorrow's peace?
