Rabindranath Poem by BASAB CHAUDHURI

Rabindranath

Water falls
Leaves shake" —
since he heard these two lines,
water continued to fall from the sky within,
leaves of his evergreen mind did not stop shaking.

One life does not suffice
to go through his boundless creation.

His saintly philosophy —
he summarizes:

"Malice does not bring me happiness,
there is no glory in it,
so I take care
that malice does not produce malice in me.

Life — a sort of lamp —
does not have enough oil.
If all of it is lost in rage,
what remains for worship? "

A poet, a sage,
holding God in his bosom.
