Rabindranath Tagore Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

Rabindranath Tagore

You brought the song of nectar to this earth,
And bound the endless in your melody;
To waking souls, your music gave new birth,
To quench our spirits and to set us free.

Your glory spreads across the open sky,
To find the unknown bird's most distant home;
Beyond the bounds where mortal limits lie,
You merge all rivers into sacred foam.

You washed both life and death in holy light,
Within the private soul you woke the day;
You grew a lotus in the spirit's sight,
And sang through heavens far and far away.

In every heart a hundred petals bloom,
For with your name, the Sun dispels the gloom.
