Race Of The Ace Poem by Saiom Shriver

Race Of The Ace

It's no disgrace
for the ace...
no losing face..
to come second
or last
in a race

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
(to Peter Burwash, tennis pro
who would harm no being...
who lost the tennis match
when a column of ants
came marching across
the court and to all others
who transcend competition)

(thank you to Petter Finne who
said 'coming second is not a disgrace)
