Race, Refuge And Repair Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Race, Refuge And Repair

Race, refuge and repair,
Rethinking migration from global south,
What it my race, what it your race,
What it your gender, what it my gender,
From where to where you
Displaced and dislocated,
Can the village give employment
And in search of employability,
Where you
In search of greener avenues,
Food, housing and clothing,
I mean better amenities?

But sometimes wars too dislocate and displace people,
Blind faith too makes us differentiate
In between man and man,
People are driven from homes,
Lands are seized, murders are committed,
Bloodshed is done by drawn swords and daggers
To kill in bad blood,
Crusades are waged as for barbaric medievalism
Which is still now in us in terms of
The veil system, gender inequality and bias,
Suffocation of women, suppression and repression of them,
Human rights confiscated,
Borders closed down callously, barring entries.
