Race War Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Race War

Nobody knows who struck the first blow,
Yet the body count continues to grow.
So much violence and so many tears,
It's already been going on for years.

The uniforms are the color of skin,
Because all the hatred has built up within.
For some it's easy to choose a side,
And others have conflicts inside.

There are those who don't want to fight,
Yet others want to test their might.
Some people think their race is superior,
And that all the others are just inferior.

There're more than two sides involved in this,
And this conflict will go badly amiss.
It'll be difficult to remain neutral,
Unless the respect can be mutual.

It doesn't matter what side you choose,
Everybody will eventually lose.
The Race War will never be won,
Unless the Human Race can unite as one.
