Rage Poem by Cory Huennekens

Rage

I have felt a deep sadness at the core of my being
Rage boils up inside me
As the vast black ocean over a giant fire

RAGE! Violently oppressed
VIOLENCE! Raging inside
Myself is not myself....
I am two fish connected by a cord-
Yet swimming in opposite directions
Soil under one foot
The other in water

Smash beauty! Break it on the ground!
A beautiful flower trampled
A window smashed
Death is too restful and quiet

Recede poison rage
Do not ebb,
Disappear!

Despair
Give way

Silence.

Tough to have the conflicting sides. I know what you feel but it's subject is slightly different but I stuggle with killing a black hearted piece of me everyday. Wonderful strong expression. it's rough. thank you cory.
