Raging Fire - Poem by Anders Lim

Burning in the depths of hell
I carelessly tripped over my conscience and fell
Anger and frustration possessed me long ago
Terrorizing my heart, mind, and soul
What is this? I cannot fully ensure
Righteous medicine that still can make me pure
Bursting out
With screams and shouts
My conscience only serves as a whisper in my head
For my sins surrounding me glow bright and red
In this pit I stand, weak and frail
I shouted for help but to no avail
Confession I seek but cannot find
What is this demon that twists my mind?
No way out of with grimy pit
My fire of rage was brightly lit
This flame of darkness burned my skin deep
Frustration I will not tolerate or keep
I’m charging through each wall I face
Not slowing down, just keeping the pace
No righteous soul can save me here
For the end of this flame is approaching near
I tripped into a hell which never did exist
But here I am now, stuck in an abyss
