Rain Poem by Matt Burgett

Rain

It rains outside cold and wet
Like the dark depths of my soul
For it is that without the rent
My nights will be spent cold

And if it rains I could get sick
But I do not care today
Because in the rain I'll feel the pain
As it all gets washed away

Then all at once I will collapse
And give in to what i want to do
Cut my wrists and bleed to death
Here in the rain without you

Money's tight but I work hard
It still is not enough
To make it in the world today
Alone and without love

So what to do I do not know
It drives me past insane
I start to cry as it begins to show
as I lie here in the rain
