Rain Poem by meghann braun

Rain

Rating: 5.0

Rain beats against the window panes
Skies shadow a dead beat world
Stars fade with passing time
Yet you stand here cold as stone.

Rain falls down on the world below
Skies are grey and white
Clouds cover everything in the air
And you’ve left me here alone.

Time doesn’t live; it’s dead in my eyes
Ask my heart and it’ll tell you
That hearing you call out my name
Just pours salt into the open wound

Rain ceases to beat against my face
Skies turn from black to clear
I’ll stop calling out in vain for you
And with time my lesion will heal.
