Rainfall Poem by David Ocheche

Rainfall

When the gods shed happy tears, it
falls as mild rain, its the pure
substance that washes away the
farmers fears of wasted effort and
rewards his hard work.
It is the enchanting lullaby that
lures men, righteous and
treacherous alike into the realm of
wakeful sleep.
It falls on lifes' monochrome
picture and colours it beautifully
with the blessings that the gods
send down with it.
We pray to you o' gods that you
look on only the deeds of the
righteous, otherwise we will all be
doomed.
