city lights
shimmer across my eyes
and the rainy night
pour outside my window.


i look away
and you look alive
in your red jeans
and hot pink shoes


and the rainy nights
would lose its glory
without your lips
touching mine.


but all through these years
that a friend you have been of mine

never did i feel
these moments
that now plunders
through my life.

city lights
and
rainy nights
brings a thousand lovers
out of their lives.


as we look
and into the blinking neon lights.

this city
is all that we had
entangled between you and me
all through these
rainy summer nights.
