Random Fragments Poem by Obodai Sonny

Random Fragments

I rediscovered fire on a bridge,
With no arms to swim or a backbone to sprout a single wing,
So i waited for gravity to fall under a heavy induced sleep;
And i tip toed across the Skies, then i slipped.

I fell in love with love and out of that an endless loop,
So i grabbed it from the best of man down the altar where we stood,
Then the finger she outstretched clenched with the others into a fist,
As did that that i wielded into a boxing ring.

I drowned my sorrows in a bottomless bottle..i drowned it!
Till left was right and right was no longer wrong,
Till up was down and the world couldn't stand me anymore,
Till the harsh thud of an embrace showered me with great warmth.

I remember lying beneath the skies,
I remember looking up to the stars and not wanting to idolize them,
So i closed my eyes and deserted them in the dark,
So i can bathe in the beams without inviting them back.
