Rara Avis Poem by SRIRANJI ARATISANKAR

Rara Avis

Rating: 5.0

Happiness is at beck and call
Of my next-door neighbour...
My better half always upbraids me for that..
As if I am a lady's finger, a husking pedal
To show her my artistic skill as well as heroism
I tried to seduce happiness by hook or by crook..

Not to speak of favour even not cast a glance
I know plain dealing won't do,
Have to do something different
Tried to allure in many ways...

A fondling girl of joy used to visit our house
Now-a-says she is rara avis...
