Ras Kimono Poem by Oko Emmanuel Agi

Ras Kimono

Dearest,
Your eyes have journeyed on a sleep that no man awakes from

We could cry you a river of tears
But it would still be your body that fills that coffin not our tears

While your body walks down that lonely road to yonder
Your voice sings to us still
While those leave-less trees on the road
To yonder fail to shelter you
In our heart, we've built you a home

You were here but now you are gone
Farewell my dearest raggae artiste
Farewell Ras Kimono

May the light guide you as you walk
Through that lonely road
Rest on king
Rest on...
