Razor Day Poem by Matt Burgett

Razor Day

Tomorrow is the day
That for all is one of two
Chocolates or razors
But for me I'm unwilling to move

A valentine I may have
But unhappy is all I make her
Betrayal she feels day by day
For some reason there is no comfort

So I'll give up and stop the attempts
Start bleeding and drain it all out
My life force is no longer needed
And now emotion I will be forever without

Because if that is how it is
Then emotion is not needed to live
My soul will float dissolving away
Unwilling for my body to forgive

A razor-blade valentine
I give to you on this razor day
As the clouds block out the sunshine
And I have no other way

I can not feel my heart
Anymore than I care at all
I'm willing to give it all up
Now just watch me slip and fall
