Razor's Edge Poem by Sara Hammouri

Razor's Edge

Rating: 5.0

Here I lie at the razors edge
The day I made my final pledge
The day I opened up my skin
The day I let out all my sins

Here I lie at the razors edge
So close to falling off that ledge
This pain and blood in which I dredge
Caused me to make that final pledge

Falling into this dark abyss
Awaiting the blades final kiss
Looking back on that first slice
The day my heart turned cold as ice

I think back on that first slash
Staring away at the gash
Lying here at the razors edge
So close to falling off the ledge

I close my eyes
To escape these lies
I chose this knife
To end my strife

I cut this vain
To end this pain
I sit here sighing
My hope dying

Lying here at the razors edge
So close to falling off the ledge
Just one more shove and ill be gone
This is my final pledge

Perfectly conceived. Marvelous. Brilliant. Couldn't have been better. Great piece.

I wrote a poem a few months ago with a similar title, different concept, but I like this poem a lot more. :) 10
