Re-Unite Again Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Re-Unite Again

The pangs of exodus
Touching disaster
Tragedy and pathos
Torment and Trauma
The most heart-rending
Events of the past
Awful and horrific
Haunting memories
For both
Hindu and Muslim
Communities-
That lived through
Those tragic times.

The drama was staged
Staged in the garb
Of temptations
As an evil design
By the then command.

When-
Revisiting the past
Besides, migration
Displacement
And rehabilitation
Into the main stream
The main issues
Staring at-
In our eyes, even today.

Realizing the value
We need to re-thinks
Re-talk and re-write
About those worst
Memories of the past
So that
The coming generations
Might well-
Understand it better
Learning-
Great lessons of the past
In vacuum of politicians.

Reliving, those memories:
A tangible form
Form of historical ordeal
Of the then generation
Not too long ago...!
Can we re-unite again?
