Reading Poem by Sheena Blackhall

Reading

Visit stars, oceans, or rich Samarkand
Turning the pages will open your mind
Books are the passport to fantasy land

Enter a dragon ship Vikings have manned
Read about characters, strange, cruel or kind
Books are the passport to fantasy land

Enter a story of palaces grand
Heavy with roses, each pillar entwined
Books are the passport to fantasy land

Is there a unicorn, camels or sand
Is there a mountain where diamonds are mined?
Books are the passport to fantasy land

Do you like tales that are chilling or bland?
Your local library… say, have you joined
Books are the passport to fantasy land

Do you queue up for poetry at the book stand?
Do you seek out an author to have your book signed?
Books are the passport to fantasy land
