Reading Again, For Vanessa Poem by Granville Holt

Reading Again, For Vanessa

Please forgive me, so, not Shakespeare again!
I'd love to read a book but what's the point?
I want to live, love, laugh and cry and then
Pause, to take it in like a clairvoyant!

Ok, maybe just enjoy the escape,
The wonder of word created pictures,
The emotion of wistful dreams take shape,
The awe as some great character allures!

Not so much of heartache, just real people
Drama, yes, without the gore of killing
And all the more if there is a good sequel!
Oh! To read again would be so thrilling!

And yet how to release that sweet firefly,
To find that rhyme in the blink of an eye!
