Realisation Of Mysuffering. Poem by Sudipta Bhattacharyya

Realisation Of Mysuffering.

Getting tired of life
I went to be refreshed
To the bank of the river.
The murmuring of the river, the song of the Birds , the twittering of the little insects
Soothed my griefladen heart for a while.
I found room for my comforts,
I found room for my liberty,
My heart lifted up in joys inexplicable.

Suddenly, I saw a little child,
Naked, barefooted begging alms
From almost any person present there,
I felt pity and my momentary joys
Came to an end in a moment.
Disregarding the beauty of the setting Sun,
I left the place, though contented.
My suffering appeared to me little
In respect of that wretched child.
