Reality Unchanging Poem by Anna Ong

Reality Unchanging

Feel like I'm flying
My spirit soars above the clouds
Feel like I'm floating
yet my feet never left the ground

And once again I realise
I've been chasing elusive dreams
Reality has taken a back seat
but once again it steps forth

And I'm back where I've always been
Back where my sanity is constantly challenged
by the decrepit sordidness
of the real world

All this was wonderful
while it lasted
A dream so sublimely enchanting
it blinded me to the world's deception

Needed to find my way
yet I'm back where I started
back where I always had been
Reality unchanging
