Rear View Mirror Poem by Cheyenne Ashley

Rear View Mirror

I was sitting backwards
In a life going ahead straight
Watching everything go by
Out the back window slate
It was amazing how
I only saw the memories when they were past
And with every mile forward
Another memory fades away fast
You cant see them when they're infront
So you can't even enjoy their prescence
No seeing them in the future
Only in the past tense
At least you'll miss the bad ones
And not have to hurt
But you'll miss all the good ones
And all the people on this earth
So I was sitting backwards
In a life going ahead strong
But I think I'll slow down
So my memories will last long
