Rebirth Poem by Tariq Alkaritty

Rebirth

I once woke up from a deep slumber
After that faint voice in me grew bold
From a whisper; it morphed into a deafening call
Get up! Arise! It roared like a beast
Enraged and zealous, I got up to speed
With the wind and barrier of a sea.
I wanted to battle my nemesis and win
So, at shore, I lay waste to all of my ships.

The inception of this battle was in the mind
Its upshot was determined before it began
And as such, only the kill justified the feast:
A dark cloud had hovered from site to site
Baiting both sides to hasten to victory -
Whose key was with the bearer of persistence
Though sages far and within shortened the distance
So that my soul, would always be awakened.
