Reborn Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Reborn

When I feel winds blow by me smoothly, I try
To stop and listen to sound they scream, I wish
My eyes will close and I shall weep and cry
As Gods raise up my body towards heaven's lips.
Will gates open wide or slam in coldness
I shall try hoping for mercy upon souls like mine
I pray to God I shall rest in peace; soulless
I close my eyes not going to cry; it's fine.
But wonder aloud 'Shall people I treasure then perish? '
The thought so horrid, the pain is back, I weep
For people now gone and souls in relish
I see the blood, red drained in the floor, seep.
The light runs through when breath is alive in beings
Eyes opening in searching they find a hope so strong
The wires are repaired and strings are attached to rings
We're alive, we strive to continue, we reach and find the love.
As days end, sunsets fade black the moon is worn.
We awake to everyday as like we have been reborn.
