Reconciled Heart Poem by Jessica Engh

Reconciled Heart

Love is a funny thing
Unable to tame
And we can only sing
The note of our lovers name

The heat gets strong
This heart beats faster
As our bodies draw near
The tension thickens..

Anticipation awakes
At the touch of your skin
This heart no longer aches
As my hands you pin

Intensly upon the wall
You stare endlessly in these eyes
As mine begin to fall
For you've heard all my cries

Tainted was this soul
Living a useless life
Burned was this hole
That continued with no strife

But I continue to look back at you
And the utter sound of your voice
Helps me move on through
For I thought I had no choice

You let me know
How we where to last
You wouldn't let go
For that's heard of only in my past

Reconcile this heart
Stop it from bleeding
For it's been apart
And it's something I'll be needing..
