Red Poem by Suporno Kanti Roy

Red

She came to my dream
Like a red light beam,
Attractive she was,
yes she was lean..
stretched her arms,
they were thin
I gave her a rose
And she...me a pin..!
Took my arms
down the stairs,
And as she moved
heard the needles,
jingle in her hair..
to recall her face
she said..
don't look above
I am her I am your love..
all these, days..
Opened her lips
Whispered in my ears
'Don't you remember..!
We've known each other
for a thousand years! '

The last down step
the winding stairs,
I saw beneath me filth, slime
and lovers in screaming pairs...

She smiled and turned....;
The ribbon in red, tightened and burned..
c'mon she said,
Naked was her glance
I shivered and felt,
her eyes like a lance..

Oh!
Clutched her throat with my hand in her glove
I screamed......
'You are anything but not my LOVE'!
