Red Light Poem by Kelly Persinger

Red Light

She was born a wonderful child,
She lived a wonderful life,
She was the sweetest woman alive,
And she always saw the green light.

Green always meant go,
And for many years yellow meant speed up,
She couldn't even see red,
Because she was so full of life and love.

Many years past,
And yellow finally ment slow down,
She began to see the red ligh beneath the yellow,
She wasn't ready, so she ran it and ran it many times.

Slowly she could not see green anymore,
And yellow started to become very dull,
After 87 wonderfully lived years,
She looked up and stopped at the red light.
