Redemption Poem by Eli Ray

Today is the day I pay for my sins
By sleeping the night on needles that prick
For today is the day of redemption
the day life has come a full circle
Today is the day darkness will consume me
and take me to the flames to weep
Down to depths unforeseen
my sorrows to bury and my promises to keep
To meet the undead, where i shall be redeemed
Into the chasm, into the abyss I leap.

Today is the day of firsts
the day to undo trust
the day I go down on my knees
and pray to be redeemed
Today is the day my split soul shall become one
The day all sorrow shall come undone
Today I am a step closer to me redeemer
a step closer in prayer
Comforted by velvet darkness
and falling further into the abyss.
