Reed Ranch Visit Poem by Marilyn Lott

Reed Ranch Visit

We took a trip to the Reed Ranch
It was like a hundred years had passed
We had the nicest visit with the folks
Like a different life time was cast

There was a post office just like yesterday
A lady waiting with a jug right close
Hoping to make a few new friends
A little party she was wantin’ to host

A cemetery with worn old tombstones
Made you feel like you knew these folks
Takes you back so long ago as well
Makes you wonder is it real or just a joke

Tough guys stand around and talk
There’s a lot of growing anticipation
Is it a robbery that’s being planned?
You sure don’t want any participation

An old cook stove just sitting there
Though old and worn it’s still exquisite
Just another thing to put you back in time
With your wonderful Reed Ranch visit!
