Reflection Poem by Jesse Griffin

Reflection

You hang me on the wall,
And use me to see,
What you truly look like,
Never what you want to be.

I will never lie to you,
The most honest of friends,
Showing you everthing,
All the flaws of men.

I give you a sight,
in hopes that you will see,
the good soul inside of you,
not who you thrive to be.

Yet all you do is weep,
Unable to see what I can.
Your true soul,
Better than all man.

Yet you cannot hear me,
As I cry out to you,
And you slowly slip away,
as all shadows do.

While I remain here,
showing all there is to see,
the scene of sorrow,
because you couldn't be who you wanted to be.
