Reflection Poem by Halloweena Scarlet Ng

Reflection

When I looked through a reflection of a polished glass,
I saw cheerful, optimistic children playing 'Hide-and-Seek'.
They hid and ran, until the 'predator' lose their pace.
and ate snacks for lunch, plus bubble gums in pink.

Shouts and screams suddenly reached my ears,
I looked closer, and it was just 'Tug-A-War'.
Those group of monkeys pulling the rope with their grating cries,
and I sighed, and thought to myself: 'What's it for? '

Then, a call for my name, I swear,
friends of mine waved her hand, as a sign for fun.
And I was about to turn my head, like a curious bear...
... the image twisted, all turned into none.

I found myself in a dark room, unwelcome and uncanny,
until I saw the same children, standing inches away from me.
As I walked towards them, trying to say something fancy,
Surprisingly they turned their backs, whispering as I could see.

Their glares and stares were the most terrifying looks,
and I could not bear to approach them any longer.
Slowly, their looks evoked me, especially their faces,
has made me understood that my state is in danger.

I'm now the helpless, miserable and the unwanted ones,
That very moment I swear their hearts have hardened.
And if someone say they were the good guys,
Look again, it's all part of the reflection.
