I am familiar with the night
With the shadows that creep into my sight
In silence I sit with my lonely musings
The shadows that enclose me are quite soothing
A winter wind comes rushing by
And as it passes silently dies
Listen to the Whip-poor-wills cries
As it sings to the night skies
Deeply I inhale the cold twilight air
Cure this heart of stone laid bare
Find its hidden treasures
Reap its secret dreams and pleasures
Or will its gifts remained sealed
Never to be revealed
This is a beautiful write of deep introspection, Alesia. Extremely well written and expressed.
