Refracting Light Poem by Laurence Overmire

Refracting Light

I am not distinct or separate
As much as I'd like to think so
The thread of the air is woven through
My lungs
Stitched into the fabric of the sky
I breathe the trees
I cry the waters
I eat the dust of the stars
I am
Because you are
And you are
Of me
There is no disconnection
Except in the vanity of our own
Deceiving minds.
