Refrain Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Refrain

Refrain
Refrain!
On top of the hill
The Poet-Seer Voice
Shouted:
Wide be the eyes
And tiptoe walks the night.
I have no Wisdom but the Wall of Silence
Now.
I have no gift but to stand before you.
Tell
Tell the Muse transfigure me
Already I see mists of rainbow colors
I see the motion of the chameleon
I see the churning of the scenting fires
I hear the dusk bell ringing
In the small chapel
Vesper
Then four lank figures separate
And the small chapel-door, it closes.
