Refuge - Poem by Lorene Kinsey

My mind wonders daily,
where I have been,
where I want to be,
where I hope to go.
I am happiest then, awake,
dreaming, slipping
into my own world
fabricated by my fantasies,
a creation of my mind, spirit,
hopes. I am most proud
of this ability to shine
when all I see is darkness.
