Regret Poem by Jamyson Hoelscher

Regret

Perhaps a fragment of sorrow, or a small drip of fear.
But I see nothing real in your few, fake tears.
This anger, this rage, this hate I now feel.
These emotions, these feelings, these are truly real.
You come and lie, you go and cheat.
But you never stopped to think of this inevitable feat?
I curse your dull ignorance, you lack of any shame.
What is my life to you? Some cheap little game?
Something to play with? To mess with once bored?
It's now difficult to see you as one once adored.
My pain, your lies,
They bring up no cries.
From my dissapointed soul which loves you no more.
So now your presence is one I must abhor.
You, the one I once had adored.
But here at this time, here at this place.
I can no longer stand to look at your face.
I turn to leave, after not a word was said.
Until I felt that you grabbed my hand.
I stand there in silence, waiting to hear.
But in the end you let go, hushed up by fear.
And as I leave, not looking back,
Your many tears are real, your heart with a crack.
