Release Poem by Alejandro Torres

Release

Rating: 5.0

I marry the bed
When thoughts of you surround me
Drown me
Lost in an ocean of locked doors
Behind closed curtains
Through rays of sunlight
My ears hear the sight
Because my eyes are closed tight

A what a picture it must be
Stretched out and tied tight
A groan
A sigh
Why wait for night
When the hunger burns bright
At any given moment

In dreams you haunt me
A life you wont have us lead
During wakeful hours
Thoughts of you plague me
A fantasy of things that wont be
And I feel like I’m only chasing an empty dream
But there’s a scream

It’s one my heart knows well
It’s something like an ocean swell
Crashing on the rocks
It’s a cry of release
I only give when the house is empty
Funny, how is it that is sounds
Similar to your name
Even thought you’d never hear it

And the quakes are nice
But the dreams are hazy
And I prefer them that way
So I don’t partake in more
Than my fair share
When the bed and I
Meet

These metaphors are blunt words
Disguised in pretty gowns
I wont be spelling it out
My intentions are always sound
Thought this pass around
I’ve just grown into my skin
A bit more

And I wonder
Are you a screamer
A dreamer
A sigh
A call
Or shout
Does your heart make a sound
When you reach that peak
Or are you silent all throughout

I can imagine the sudden blush
I’ve never been this explicit
But you’re exquisite
So let the wine
From your bottle of womanhood
Flow
I want to taste Eden
Even if it means burning in Hell

I’ll be there in a short whiles time
To taste ambrosia so fine
The Gods and mortals line up for alike
Cause a being of beauty is divine
But your something from lore
Full of magic
A means to an end

So tonight I divorce the bed
Marry patience instead
And wait for your go ahead
