Relentless Poem by Oliver Croft

Relentless

He ripped the synth from a submarine,
Finger-mixed it in like a cocktail of noise,
Therefore, the booms were half-dumbed and they sat on our chests,
Quietly murdering our hearts,
Our mouths are full
When suddenly the booming throngs; malignant to air and breath,
Mouth-muffled, we sway like zombies,
And we live because we're hypnotized,
Cross-eyed, windmilling whites and blacks,
Unremarkable to the past, undeterred by a deadly future
We walk on where we stand,
Like wizened trees that have seen true time,
Until the boom that snaps us out of it,
Cracks - rips aloud an empty black sky
