Remember Lot’s Wife

“I’ve come in shame, tattered and bruised
Inflicted by the foe
Both heart and mind are so confused
I don’t know where to go

I’ve come so far but now I fear
Through sin I’ve gone astray
Before You Lord I’m kneeling here
Please hear `me as I pray

From in my heart has gone the song
I’ve spoiled my robe of white
I know myself there’s something wrong
My deeds despise the light

So now in church I’m rarely seen
Inside, I feel no ease
For holy, is Your chosen queen
And so I’m on my knees

Oh Lord, I’m filled with deep despair
My Egypt; brought such pain
Her onions and her garlic there
I’d turned to once again

I thought once more to have some fun
I travelled far and wide
But then the Spirit of Your Son
Began to burn inside

Please let me come again my King
Allow me through Your door
If I could ask for just one thing
Your breath; I crave once more

Cover me with Your garment’s edge
Redeem this broken heart
Receive my God this life long pledge
No more from You to part.
