Remember This Poem by Rachel Ten

Remember This

Rating: 4.8

There is an earthquake,
it shakes me from my dreams.
As I lie awake, notably anxious,
I sift through the debris
of images that had been
unfolding in my mind.
A flash of light.
A knock at the door.
Dream forgotten,
I open the door to you.
I drown myself in tears of relief,
free of my lonely nightmares.
A light is extinguished.
A door is closed.
You smooth my hair and rock me as
a mother rocks a child. Stay with
me tonight, don't forget tonight,
for together it is our last.
