Remember You Poem by Nom Nom Nom

Remember You

I heard your name and remembered your face;
I remember never wanting to leave this place;
your arms, safe and strong;
and when you tested your strength on me, I didn't know it was wrong;
I remember your eyes, helped me stay believing;
now I know they were deceiving;
your words were lies;
they left me with a surprise;
with cuts on my heart;
with memories from the start;
how could you treat me like you cared;
not leaving me time to get prepared;
not leaving me time to understand;
take my hand;
one last time before I leave;
this time around though, I won't greave;
you were there when I needed love;
and we were there when we tempted love;
I thank you for helping me learn how to cope;
thank you for helping me learn how to hope;
with this last and close death I'll say my goodbye;
and fall hard, not trying to cry;
thank you for hurting me then so I can stay strong now;
thank you for teaching me how;
if it wasn't for what we shared, I'll be the same;
and for the rest of my life, it would be you to blame;
I want you to know you emotionally hurt me;
let me begging to be free;
physically scarring me, but we called that a game;
I cried when I heard you name;
come out of others mouths, cried when they bad talked you;
because that was all I could do;
I didn't have the strenght to tell them that night;
that what you did wasn't right;
I'll love you, I'll miss you, and I'll remember you;
because that's all I can do
