"Oh dear, what derision
When you look at me stern
With your impervious eyes! "
But dear,
There is no derision, mockery,
Ridicule in gracing your sophistication
With my eyes.
This is how I memorize you
As you steely smile
With your hands cushioning
Your davenport blue, still and emerald-sigh.
I know things that you never confessed
Or safe to say, repressed
Like how your eyes are bludgeoned dead
When the air of judgment slithers
On your skin
How you eat and how you breathe
And how your face turns aglow -
The insignia of a forgotten symphony -
Revealed like the glissando of the seraphs.
The night moves its arms
To smear you ebony, hair, the ocean-fleet
The slow passing of the starless vessel;
A cavalry runs smooth on your skin -
Salt plethora, an embittered rose with
Petals of rampant claim.
I memorize you
And consign you to reminiscences
As you evade oblivion -
Do not worry love, I will clad you
With a love so bold that oblivion
Will tremble in taking you.
