Renewed Vows Poem by Brett White

Renewed Vows

I've loved you so dearly since the day we met,

That my heart since, skims life's clouds like a jet:

Supersonic and fluid, your grace I'll not soon forget,

Nor should you ever fear that you I shall reject.

Your absence in the court of love I wholly object,

So please my Love -renewed vows -let's inspect.

Because of 8 billion, it's you above all I select,

And rest easy, my Love, for your smile I shall get,

To grace your aura always, like steel to a magnet.

I'll love you forever in full -without nary doubt or regret.

You are completely adored from afar, your joy is my target.

This is more solid than cut stone in dry mortar set:

The world -combined -loves you far less than do, I, quiet Brett.

These words of love for you I shall publicly erect,

Even if my existence -and its value -you deem derelict.

I shall not waver, no, I shall not my heart's needs neglect,

My constancy towards thee is a guaranteed winning bet,

All that I quietly asketh of thee, Love, is to please let,

My hand in yours: with discord dissolved and peaceful love gracing it,

Alongside the total immersion of our bodies into one, edified Spirit.

So long as I am with you, my voice please heedand hear it...

My love is so authentic that no other comes near it.

I love you, O Misfortunate One, please believe it.

I miss you, O Misfortunate One, I beg you to fix it.

Darling Angel, allow the situation totransform itself from a rock

Tumbling down an abyss with no end in sight,

Into the certitude of a bank's sealed vault lock -

Gently opening -with the sole key turned just right:

Allowing waves of Light to pour forth upon the dark.

Allowing waves of hope to buoy themselves afresh,

Allowing smiles, hugs, and kisses in contrast stark,

To the experience of being scourged by Love's barbwire mesh.

Indeed, I feel as though beautiful words of endless love,

Can bring past hurts to their eternal resting place,

And in their place, bring a cooing, docile turtle dove -

Nestled contentedly upon the one whom money cannot replace,

The one whom his migrations never fail to joyously follow.

Like a never-ending, circuitous feedback loop upon itself,

I dug the static out of my heart -once broken -now excavated hollow:

I am the personification of love poetry, the book is open, breathing, and off the shelf.

I radiate thoughts of immeasurable peace and harmony

Every single second found within every single day I have left,

For I will not let fate, time, nor stubborn women's choices harm me,

As I have faith my undying heart will be soothed by the source of its bereft.

For Time -indifferent -plods, marches, and runs past us all,

Oblivious en masse are the masses all, blind to whirlwind days sans finit.

Many are called but few are chosen, life is short, so let's not stall,

To hug each other one last time, so my joy can entomb us in it:

Embracing each other in that fatal, Vesuvius-breached moment.

Thou art my judge, jury, and executioner with ivory skin and flawless grace,

Picture perfect art thou to me, days apart are forever spent,

My racing heart soars without you-guillotine gleaming -oh Love, distract my blood,

From pouring itself with passionate fury into my heart, at the sight of your face-

Subtracting logic and logos to nothing, our memories my heart's inedible food...

Until I miraculously resuscitate anew, galvanized by you in black lace...

Like a black widow spider, disconnected from the reality of dying from love,

I pursue my own ending.I am the praying mantis of poetry that breathes and lives,

Glowing hotter and hotter, steadily burning for my demise, a neglected stove

Am I, inflamed and racing towards oblivion, if in dying for you, your heart mine forgives...

I am forever racing towards oblivion, if in dying for you, your heart mine forgives.

I love you.
