Repention Song
If my heart shows icy stone,
my deepest kingdom overthrown,
than only by God's grace alone,
shall I be forgiven, taken home.
Those who forgive shall be forgiven
Those who give shall receive.
Lord forgive me, the sins I've driven
Lift me up to the land of ease.
In my last dear dying breath
I pray you lord that I find rest.
In my heart and in my mind
sins of the soul get left behind
Worldly classes are no more
God looks deep into the core.
Take my life if you shall choose
For my life's been led to lose.
God take one last look deep inside
See that gone is human pride.
Gone the selfish familiar ways
Here lies a new song of resounding praise.
For all of you who've lost God for long,
sing again the Repention song.

Very inspiring.But I personally feel that the Soul is always pure in spirit since it connects us with the Deity, by what name we choose, whether we acknowledge the existence or not.And we sin because we don't know any better or because it's the only means to an end.All is forgiven when we give up our last breath and how we live our lives is what is important.Death is the great equaliser and no one really knows what happens in the after-life but it must be a good place because they don't back except for some who return to haunt as ghosts in limbo or reincarnated purified souls (Buddhist/Hindu) .Depends on religious belief. Your poems are very clearly written.You do have some typos but don't we all? ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Tens for all and keep writng-can't wait to hear your songs some day.
